INTEREST GROUPS

Interest groups are intended to encourage longer-term cooperation among scholars from different regions around specific themes beyond the annual conference.

Interest groups may thus seek to launch joint research and/or publication projects, plan group events (in-person or online) throughout the year and launch other initiatives. Interest groups are open to all ICON•S members working on the respective themes.

CURRENTLY, ELEVEN INTEREST GROUPS ASSEMBLE UNDER THE ICON•S ROOF, THESE INCLUDE:

The African Interest Group

AS WELL AS INTEREST GROUPS ON:

Informal Judicial Institutions

The Separation of Powers

Art, Heritage, Law, and Economics

Digital Constitutionalism

Global Data Law

The Right to Health in Turbulent Times

Constitution Making

Climate Change and Migration

Emerging Rights

Concept Integration in Comparative Law

As you can see, some Interest Groups assemble around broader themes whereas others have a more specific focus. If you are interested in joining an existing interest group, approach the conveners of the group via the contacts provided on their page.

WE ARE ALSO ALWAYS HAPPY TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FOR THE FORMATION OF NEW INTEREST GROUPS.

If you would like to found a new interest group, please contact dsg@icon-society.org.

Ideally, such applications should come from a diverse group of scholars rather than individual scholars and suggestions should include some first ideas of the broader goals and plans of the proposed group.
