Aims of the ICON•S Winter/Summer School
The ICON•S winter/summer school will offer the opportunity for approximately twelve to fifteen junior scholars with a unique platform to enrich their sense of connection and community within ICON•S.
The program offers a multifaceted experience that encompasses informative sessions, collaborative workshops, and valuable mentorship opportunities. At the program’s core are introductory sessions conducted by leading scholars in the field focused on methodologies, writing and publishing, select skills, and career planning.
One of the standout features of the winter/summer school is the opportunity for participants to workshop a draft article or chapter. This interactive component allows junior scholars to refine their research under the guidance of experienced mentors and receive feedback from peers and instructors.
The program encourages engagement, collaboration, and the cultivation of lasting connections among junior scholars, fostering an environment where knowledge is shared, skills are honed, and a supportive network for future academic endeavours is forged.
Who Can Participate
Applications for the ICON•S winter/summer school are open to all junior scholars.
A junior scholar is defined as an aspiring career academic who self-identifies as such and/or whose terminal degree for entering the profession has not yet begun, is in the process of being completed, or was earned within the previous five years (excluding career breaks).
