We are happy to announce a new and topical ICON•S Live event. Join us for an online discussion on “Defeating COVID-19: Vaccines, Public Law and Global Challenges” next week!
Both the domestic roll-out of COVID-vaccines and its international distribution have been a source of increasing worries and criticism in recent weeks. These concerns and criticisms have come from different fields and perspectives and raise key questions of justice and equality on a global level. We have therefore invited three distinguished speakers with particular expertise on social rights and the right to health as well as WHO law to discuss with us the challenges involved: Alicia Yasmin (Harvard University, USA), Octavio Ferraz (King’s College London, UK) and Gian Luca Burci (Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies Geneva, Switzerland and former legal counsel of the WHO).
The event will be chaired and moderated by Marie Bismark (University of Melbourne, Australia) and it will consist of three brief presentations and a guided discussion followed by a Q&A. It will take place on April 30, 2021 at 9 am Eastern Time.
You can register here. After the registration, you will receive Zoom access details via email.
ICON•S wishes to thank Michaela Haibronner (Deputy Secretary-General elect of ICON•S), Fred Felix Zaumseil (Director of Operations and Communications of ICON•S) and Sergio Verdugo (Deputy Secretary-General of ICON•S).
